Young people across Ghana have been urged to embrace their role as spiritual change-makers and become “agents of salvation” within their communities, following a three-day youth retreat in the Volta Region.
The call was issued by Evangelist Agbetum Kudzo during the event, held at Sokode-Gbogame in the Ho Municipality under the theme “Agents of Salvation.” The gathering drew participants from across the country for sessions of prayer, biblical teaching, and spiritual reflection.
Addressing the youth, Evangelist Kudzo stressed that individuals who have experienced salvation are called to serve as conduits for reaching others. He described believers as “saved channels” with a duty to share the message of Christ in their daily lives.
“God needs saved channels to save others; therefore, you must be agents of salvation, transmitting Christ to those around you,” he said.
The evangelist challenged the young attendees to move beyond passive faith and actively position themselves for divine purpose, noting that the current spiritual climate demands urgency and personal commitment.
He further emphasized that a close, personal relationship with Christ is essential for anyone seeking to positively influence their peers. According to him, Christ remains the ultimate source of salvation, and believers must continually grow in their faith to make a lasting impact.
Evangelist Kudzo also highlighted the importance of daily spiritual discipline, encouraging participants to live God-directed lives that reflect their beliefs in practical actions. He cautioned against what he termed “refined sins”—behaviors that contradict Christian values while appearing acceptable—and urged the youth to remain vigilant.
Expressing concern over moral decline in society, he attributed the trend to sin and reiterated the need for salvation through Christ. He reminded participants that Christ’s mission was to save, not condemn, and that young people have a vital role in spreading that message.
Participants were encouraged to return to their communities as transformed individuals and emerging leaders, ready to positively influence their generation. “Do not allow anything contrary to the teachings of Christ to control your life,” he advised.
The retreat, marked by intense prayer sessions and spiritual instruction, was designed to equip young people with the tools to remain grounded in their faith while navigating modern challenges.
Organizers noted that the theme “Agents of Salvation” reflects the ongoing spiritual responsibility placed on the youth, calling for a generation that is both spiritually prepared and committed to making a meaningful impact in society.
