A teenager sent by his father to deliver cement to a nearby construction site in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, has been found dead in what authorities believe was a case of electrocution.
The boy failed to return home, prompting concern from family members. A relative who went to check on him discovered him lying unresponsive at the site and raised the alarm. Bystanders helped rush the teen to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Preliminary police investigations suggest exposed live electrical cables at the construction site may have caused the fatal shock. Officers who examined the scene noted the presence of hazardous, uncovered wiring.
The body has been moved to a mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
The incident has reignited concerns over safety standards at construction sites, especially regarding electrical installations that pose risks to both workers and members of the public. Authorities say investigations are ongoing.
