Shatta Michy has opened up about her past relationship with dancehall star Shatta Wale, expressing pride in calling the award-winning musician her ex-boyfriend.
In an interview on New Day with host Berla Mundi, Michy revealed that while her passion for entertainment dates back to her school days, it was during her time with Shatta Wale that her talent truly gained public recognition.
“The music was discovered by my ex, even though I used to sing in school and do entertainment,” she said.
According to Michy, the support she received while in the relationship played a key role in bringing her music to a wider audience.
Far from shying away from the topic, she said she has no discomfort referring to Shatta Wale as her former partner.
“It feels so good calling him my ex. I mean, I have the biggest artiste in Ghana as my ex, so I’m proud,” she stated.
Michy and Shatta Wale, who share a son together, were one of Ghana’s most talked-about celebrity couples before their split.
