“I lost everything”: Ex-Arsenal Star Emmanuel Eboue reveals devastating financial ruin

Former Arsenal and Ivory Coast defender Emmanuel Eboue has opened up about the full extent of his financial collapse, revealing that he lost multiple houses, a fleet of cars, and virtually everything he owned in England.

Speaking on The 5th House Podcast, the 39-year-old declined to put an exact figure on his losses, but described the scale as catastrophic.

“I lost so much. I don’t want to say exactly how much, but it was a lot,” Eboue said. “I lost everything I had in England. I had bought houses—three of them—and I lost them. I had many cars, and I lost those too.”

Eboue, who made over 200 appearances for Arsenal between 2005 and 2011 and later played for Galatasaray and Sunderland, has previously spoken about a bitter divorce and being swindled by trusted advisers. His latest comments add further detail to the financial freefall that left him briefly homeless and sleeping on a friend’s floor in 2017.

The defender, who earned more than £70,000 a week at his peak, now hopes his story serves as a cautionary tale for young footballers about the importance of financial management and trusting the right people.
