Ghana’s athletics governing body has announced a five-man squad to represent the nation at the upcoming World Athletics Relays, scheduled to take place next month in Gaborone, Botswana.
The team will be spearheaded by experienced sprinters Benjamin Azamati and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, alongside Joseph Paul Amoah, Isaac Botsio, and Ibrahim Fuseini. The quintet will carry the nation’s hopes in the relay competition, which is set to feature over 700 athletes from approximately 40 countries.
The World Athletics Relays serve as a critical qualifying pathway for two major global championships: the 2027 World Athletics Championships and the 2026 World Ultimate Championships.
Ghana will be looking to secure its place on the international stage with a strong performance in Gaborone, as the country continues to build its reputation in sprint relays.
