The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance works across three regions on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, that will temporarily interrupt power supply to several communities.
According to advisories issued by the power distributor over the weekend, the coordinated exercises are intended to enhance service reliability and strengthen the stability of the national grid. All outages will commence at 9:00 am, with durations varying based on the scope of work at each location.
Central Region
Two separate maintenance operations have been scheduled. The first will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, affecting Sefwi Anglo, Sefwi town, Sefwi MTN tower, and surrounding areas.
A second exercise during the same timeframe will impact Awoyaa town, Abonko, Anokyi, Henii, Nananom, Mankessim, New Nkusukum, Bafikrom, MSTS, Estates, and surrounding communities.
Accra West Region
A planned maintenance exercise will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, affecting Weija Junction, Tetegu, Tunga Down, Dansoman SSNIT Flats, Zorka Sports Complex, Dansoman Keep Fit Down, and surrounding areas. The eight-hour outage will affect these densely populated residential and commercial zones.
Volta Region
A planned maintenance operation will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, affecting parts of Sogakope town, Dabala junction, Dabala, Adutor, Agbakope, Agbagorme, Hikpo, Tordzinu, parts of Akatsi, and surrounding areas.
In its public notices, ECG apologised to all affected customers, acknowledging the inconvenience to domestic and commercial activities. The company assured the public that the exercises are necessary to ensure the long-term robustness of the power network and to deliver improved service to consumers across the regions.
