The MTN Ghana Foundation has announced the opening of applications for its Bright Scholarship scheme for the 2026/27 academic year, offering 500 awards to financially constrained but academically gifted students across the country.
The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, and essential learning materials, targeting continuing undergraduate students as well as those enrolled in vocational and technical training programmes at public tertiary institutions nationwide.
According to the Foundation, 300 of the scholarships are reserved for students pursuing science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and vocational or technical disciplines. The remaining 200 awards will go to teachers undertaking further studies at public universities.
Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, Adwoa Wiafe, described the initiative as a strategic investment in the nation’s human capital, reaffirming the company’s commitment to education and youth empowerment.
Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance, good conduct, and a clean disciplinary record. The application process is free and exclusively online via https://scholarship.mtn.com.gh/, with a deadline of May 31, 2026. No hardcopy submissions will be accepted.
Launched in 2018 following a pledge made during MTN’s 20th anniversary celebrations, the Bright Scholarship Programme was expanded in 2021 after recording significant impact. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than 2,000 scholarships at various levels of education.
