The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has officially launched a new cultural festival aimed at promoting social cohesion, celebrating heritage, and driving economic growth in the constituency.
Dubbed the “Soloku Festival,” the maiden event is scheduled for Easter Monday, April 6, 2026, at Abby’s Park in Manhyia South. Organisers anticipate a crowd of over 10,000 people, bringing together residents and visitors for a day of entertainment and community engagement.
The festival will feature a street jam, cultural performances, and various competitions, including a Soloku Dance Competition, Cooking Competition, Tug of Peace, Table Tennis, and Card Games—all designed to actively involve youth groups across the constituency.
At the heart of the initiative is the message: “One People! One Vibe.”
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Awuah emphasised that the festival goes beyond celebration, positioning it as a catalyst for local economic transformation.
“The Soloku Festival is not just about music and celebration. It is about unity. It is about creating opportunities for our young people, supporting local businesses and strengthening the bonds that hold our communities together,” he stated.
The MP drew comparisons with the Kwahu Easter Festival, noting that the Soloku Festival aims to replicate its impact on local businesses and tourism.
“We are building something that will bring real development to Manhyia South. Just as the Kwahu Easter Festival has transformed local businesses and tourism, the Soloku Festival will revive economic activity, support traders and create new opportunities for our people,” he added.
