A proposed takeover of Sevilla FC led by former club captain Sergio Ramos has descended into a public dispute, with the club and the legendary defender offering starkly contradictory accounts of the negotiations.
Sevilla officials claim that Ramos and his investor group drastically reduced their offer during the final stages of talks, slashing the proposed price from approximately €450 million to just €100 million. The club said it was left “disappointed” by the move.
But Ramos has strongly denied the allegation, insisting that the final bid was only €5 million lower than the original proposal. He also suggested that advice from La Liga representatives had influenced the negotiations.
Spain’s top flight, however, has publicly rejected that accusation, further deepening the confusion.
With both sides now locked in a war of words, the future of the takeover deal remains uncertain.
