Prez Mahama issues ultimatum to SOE bosses: Submit audited accounts or go home

President John Dramani Mahama has issued a firm directive to heads of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), warning that failure to submit audited accounts will result in dismissal.

Speaking on Monday, June 1, 2026, the President made it clear that non-compliance would not be tolerated under his administration.

“If you fail to submit audited accounts, you go home,” Mahama told SOE bosses.

The directive forms part of the President’s broader push for accountability and financial transparency within state institutions. The move signals an intensified effort to enforce rigorous financial discipline across Ghana’s public sector.

Further details on timelines for compliance and potential sanctions for non-submission are expected to be outlined by the presidency in the coming days.
