President of the Gabonese Republic, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, will undertake a three-day official visit to Ghana from July 28 to 30, 2026, at the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama, the Presidency has announced.
The visit marks another watershed moment in the dynamic bilateral relations between the two West and Central African nations, building on a foundation of shared pan-African values and a common vision for continental development.
President Oligui Nguema will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising government ministers, senior government officials, and members of the Gabonese business community. The composition of the delegation underscores Gabon’s commitment to exploring concrete economic and investment opportunities during the visit.
Programme of Activities
On July 28, the two Heads of State will hold a private tête-à -tête meeting, followed by official bilateral talks at the Jubilee House in Accra. The discussions will review the current state of bilateral relations and explore new areas of cooperation beyond existing engagements.

The two leaders are expected to strengthen collaboration across a broad spectrum of sectors, including:

· Trade and investment
· Mining, energy, and agriculture
· Forestry, fisheries, and maritime affairs

Strategic Significance
The visit reaffirms the shared commitment of Ghana and Gabon to deepening bilateral cooperation and promoting sustainable economic development for the mutual benefit of their peoples. The two Presidents have previously committed to revitalising South-South cooperation to advance tangible and sustainable development, in keeping with the ambitions of modern Africa.
President Mahama’s own visit to Libreville in May 2026 for the inaugural Libreville International Forum for Innovation and Development further demonstrated the growing engagement between the two countries at the highest levels.
