Delete your account
Your choice, at any time
You can delete your AfroAsia Media reader account at any time: in the app, on the website or by email. You don't need an account to read our stories.
In the app
In the AfroAsia Media app, open Settings, tap Account, then tap Delete account. Enter your password to confirm. Your account is deleted straight away.
On the website
Sign in and open your account page. Under Delete account, enter your password and choose Delete my account.
By email
If you can't sign in, email [email protected] from the address you registered with and ask us to delete your account. We may ask you to confirm the request before we delete it.
What is deleted
Deleting your account removes it from our systems: your email address, display name, preferred language and password. Any active membership is cancelled.
What is kept
Comments you posted may remain visible, but they are shown as from "Deleted reader" and are no longer linked to you. We keep limited information only where we must for legal or security reasons. Server logs and crash reports are kept only for a limited period and then deleted.
Newsletter subscriptions are separate from your account and are kept until you unsubscribe with the link in any newsletter email.
