The police have made a major breakthrough in the killing of a queen mother at Abamba in the Atebubu area of the Bono East Region, with the arrest of eight suspects including a chief.
The killing occurred in February 2026, and after months of investigation, the police have now apprehended those believed to be responsible for the crime.
The arrests were announced at a press briefing at Atebubu on Friday afternoon. Among the eight suspects is a chief, alongside seven others.
In a separate development, the police have also arrested six other persons in connection with the killing of two individuals at the GB Filling Station in the same area.

The police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that all suspects will be put before court upon completion of their inquiries.
