The British High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Dr. Christian Rogg, on Sunday brought together a distinguished assembly of football enthusiasts, government officials, and sports icons to mark the final day of the English Premier League season at his residence.
The event saw the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, join a lively crowd dominated by jubilant Arsenal fans celebrating their team’s newly crowned Premier League title victory.
Among the high-profile dignitaries was the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor. Also present was renowned women’s football expert, Mrs. Hillary Maame Adwoa Boaten, alongside top sports administrators.
The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) was well represented by its founder, legendary footballer Anthony Baffoe, as well as other iconic figures. Former Black Stars captain and newly appointed ambassador for the national teams, Asamoah Gyan, added star power to the occasion.
The guest list also included representatives from foreign missions, entertainment personalities such as the “Kakalika” hitmakers Dope Nation, and seasoned media figures including Michael Oti Adjei, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo, Joel Acheampong, and Kosi Fiaka.
Several accomplished sports stars were in attendance as well, with key players from the Black Queens—Jennifer Cudjoe and Chantelle Hlorkah Boye—joining the gathering to help close out an exciting EPL season in style.
