Businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye denies concubine claims, says Hajia4Real is just a friend

Business mogul Richard Nii Armah Quaye has formally denied allegations that socialite and musician Mona Faiz Montrage, popularly known as Hajia4Real, is his concubine, describing the claims as “false and misleading.”

In court documents filed on June 2, 2026, at the High Court’s Family Division in Accra, the founder of Bills Microcredit stated clearly: “The description of Mona Montrage as my concubine is not only misleading and false but is a factual inaccuracy as she is not my concubine and even more so, I cannot be said to have a concubine as an unmarried man” .

The statement came as part of an ongoing legal battle with his former wife, Joana Coffie (also known as Joana Quaye), over maintenance and child access arrangements .

The Allegations

The controversy stems from Ms. Coffie’s applications seeking to prevent Hajia4Real from having access to the couple’s two children, aged 11 and 14 . Court documents previously alleged that Mr. Quaye had deserted the marital home to stay with Hajia4Real and had given her property, including a house in the upscale Trasacco Estate and vehicles such as a Range Rover Velar and a Bentley .

Ms. Coffie has also submitted video evidence to the court, described in legal documents as “morally inappropriate,” which she argues supports her claim that Hajia4Real poses a risk to the children’s upbringing . According to the filings, one of the children has allegedly adopted inappropriate social media behavior, an incident reportedly brought to Mr. Quaye’s attention .

Quaye’s Defense

The 40-year-old entrepreneur, whose net worth is estimated at approximately $800 million, has consistently denied infidelity allegations throughout the divorce proceedings . He has previously stated in interviews that during his ten-year marriage, “I never cheated on her” .

His legal team, led by Nana Boakye Mensah-Bonsu, has argued that the requested orders would directly affect Hajia4Real, who is not a party to the case and has not been given an opportunity to respond — a situation they contend violates principles of natural justice .

The Context

The case has drawn significant public attention given the high-profile nature of both parties. Mr. Quaye, widely known as RNAQ, has amassed a fortune through his financial services firms, including Quick Angels and Bills Microcredit . He recently made headlines for acquiring a private jet and a Bugatti Chiron, reportedly spending close to $4 million on the luxury vehicle .

Hajia4Real, who was recently deported from the United States following a fraud conviction, is no stranger to legal troubles . Her prior incarceration and lifestyle have been cited by Ms. Coffie’s legal team as grounds for restricting her access to the children .

What Happens Next?

The Family Court has adjourned proceedings to June 26, 2026, when the presiding judge is expected to review the contested video evidence before considering the merits of the applications . The court will then determine whether to grant the injunction seeking to limit Hajia4Real’s contact with the children.

For now, Mr. Quaye maintains his position: Hajia4Real is simply a friend, and as an unmarried man, the term “concubine” has no place in describing their relationship.

Time will indeed tell how this legal drama unfolds.
