Arsenal’s title parade smashes UK record as 1.5m fans flood the streets

Arsenal’s victory parade has entered the history books as the largest-ever sporting celebration in Britain, with police and crowd experts estimating that between 800,000 and more than 1.5 million supporters lined the capital’s streets on Monday.

The procession, which lasted two and a half hours, far exceeded all expectations — including those of club chiefs and transport authorities — turning north London into a sea of red and white. 🔴🏆

Open-top buses carrying Mikel Arteta’s squad, club legends, and academy players wound through a designated route that quickly became impassable due to the sheer weight of humanity. Fans perched on traffic lights, climbed lampposts, and filled every available pavement from the Emirates Stadium to the final rally point.

Social media footage showed supporters abandoning cars to join the throng on foot, while local pubs reported running out of beer by midday. One steward, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Telegraph: “I’ve worked cup finals and concerts. Nothing comes close.”

Metropolitan Police confirmed no major incidents were recorded, describing the turnout as “unprecedented but good-natured.” The club later thanked “every Gooner who painted London red.”

Experts believe the figure surpasses Manchester City’s 2023 treble parade and even the 1966 England World Cup homecoming, cementing Arsenal’s celebration as Britain’s biggest ever sports street party.
