Pep Guardiola is reportedly willing to listen to an offer to become the next head coach of the Italian national team, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Manchester City manager, who has strong personal ties to Italy, is said to be open to a move to the Azzurri bench. Guardiola played for Brescia Calcio and AS Roma during his playing career and speaks fluent Italian.
The Spanish tactician has previously stated that he wants to manage a national team, adding that the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) should contact him if they are serious about the job.
While Guardiola’s high salary is expected to be a major obstacle, reports suggest that sponsorship support could help cover the cost of his wages.
