Fenerbahçe have formally requested that the Turkish Football Federation prevent Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen from featuring in Sunday’s highly anticipated derby, citing safety concerns over the Nigerian’s protective equipment.
The club argues that the arm brace worn by Osimhen – who is currently on loan at Galatasaray – could pose a danger to opposing players during physical challenges.
In response, Fenerbahçe’s medical staff are now preparing a detailed report to determine which materials and types of protective equipment are permitted under International Football Association Board (IFAB) regulations.
The request adds further tension to an already fierce rivalry ahead of this weekend’s crucial clash in Türkiye.
