Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz announced on Friday that Israel is prepared to resume military action against Iran, and that his country is awaiting approval from the United States to “return Iran to the Stone Age,” according to a report from AFP.
In a video statement, Katz asserted that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are ready both defensively and offensively, and that targets have already been identified.
“We are awaiting a green light from the United States — first and foremost to complete the elimination of the Khamenei dynasty … and additionally to return Iran to the Dark Age and the Stone Age by destroying key energy and electricity facilities and dismantling its national economic infrastructure,” Katz said.
The defence minister did not provide a timeline for potential operations. The remarks mark a significant escalation in rhetoric between the two regional adversaries, which have engaged in proxy conflicts and direct exchanges in recent months.
The White House has not yet publicly responded to Katz’s statement.
