Samartex 1998 head coach Christopher Ennin has declared that he “enjoys playing against” Asante Kotoko after guiding his side to a 2–1 victory over the Ghanaian giants at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
Ennin, who previously faced Kotoko during his time at Berekum Chelsea, said his deep understanding of the Porcupine Warriors’ style of play gave his team a tactical edge.
“I know how to frustrate them,” Ennin said after the match. “It requires tactical discipline, and I have studied them well enough to execute a plan that disrupts their rhythm.”
The win on April 7, 2026, saw Samartex claim three valuable points away from home, handing Kotoko a setback in front of their own fans.
Ennin’s confidence was evident as he reflected on past encounters. “I enjoy playing against Kotoko because I understand their strengths and weaknesses,” he added.
The result underscores Samartex’s growing reputation as a side capable of upsetting traditional powerhouses in the Ghana Premier League.
