Adenta constituency politics set for major shift as Oforikrom Atta gains groundroots support

A growing movement within the Adentan New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency is rallying behind Hon. Ofori Atta, whom supporters describe as the grassroots leader capable of revitalising the party ahead of the 2028 elections.

In a statement signed by Ɔpanyin Wireko from the Office of Hon. Ofori Atta, the party insider called for an end to what he described as a damaging cycle of prioritising financial contributions over competent, groundroots leadership in candidate selection.

“We need people who will prioritise the party’s interests first,” the statement read. “This time around, it’s not about money; it’s about the right people who know the groundwork and have stayed in the constituency for too long.”

According to the statement, Hon. Ofori Atta has been actively working to bring back former party members whose allegiance lies with the NPP. Supporters also claim he has the ability to convince National Democratic Congress (NDC) voters to switch allegiance in the next election cycle.

Describing him as “a grassroots person,” the statement drew comparisons between Ofori Atta and the biblical figure Moses, suggesting divine intervention has positioned him to rescue the constituency from incompetent leadership.

The endorsement comes as internal discussions intensify over the party’s parliamentary candidate selection process for 2028. Supporters argue that Ofori Atta’s extensive experience, boldness, and ability to connect with ordinary party members set him apart from other contenders.

The movement has adopted the hashtags #Nkwa na hia and #Onyame na osi hene as part of its campaign.
