Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on the current government led by President John Dramani Mahama to ensure the completion of the Agenda 111 hospital projects.
The former President made the appeal on Saturday during the launch of the centenary celebrations for the Kyebi Government Hospital. The event, organized by the Akyem Kyebi Government Hospital Authority in collaboration with the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council, also served as a fundraiser for infrastructure development at the facility.
Agenda 111, an initiative launched under the Akufo-Addo administration, was designed to construct 111 hospitals across the country to bridge gaps in access to medical care. Speaking at the event, Mr. Akufo-Addo stressed the importance of seeing the projects through to completion and making them operational.
According to the former President, healthcare is a fundamental necessity that must not be politicized. He urged the government to prioritize the project’s final stages, emphasizing that its benefits are essential for all Ghanaians.
“Healthcare is essential and must be embraced by everyone,” Mr. Akufo-Addo stated. “The government must not leave the project uncompleted.”
The centenary celebration highlighted the long history of the Kyebi Government Hospital while providing a platform to rally support for its continued growth and infrastructure enhancement.
