A horrific armed robbery at Fufulso Junction on Sunday evening has left two people dead and three others fighting for their lives, triggering violent unrest in the community.
The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when a group of armed men attacked a mobile money vendor as he was attending to a customer. According to eyewitness reports, the assailants opened fire during the robbery, fatally wounding both the operator and the client.
The two victims were rushed to a medical facility but were pronounced dead on arrival. Three other individuals who sustained gunshot wounds during the attack are currently receiving treatment at the Buipe District Hospital. Medical officials there describe their condition as critical.
The violent crime has sent shockwaves through the community, leading to civil unrest later that night. In retaliation, a group of irate youth reportedly set several houses ablaze, targeting properties belonging to residents of Fufulso.
