Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has revealed he openly celebrated the loss of Kennedy Agyapong in the New Patriotic Party’s recent flagbearer election.
The founder of the Life Assembly Worship Center and former presidential aspirant stated that he was “overjoyed” by the outcome, even sharing champagne to mark the result.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s Nyankonton Mu Nsem, Kyiri Abosom argued that Agyapong’s conduct during the campaign demonstrated he was unfit to lead a party or the nation. He particularly criticized the aspirant for publicly labeling fellow party members as corrupt, dishonest, and incompetent.
“How can someone who goes around calling his own party members thieves and senseless expect them to elect him as leader?” Kyiri Abosom asked. “I not only celebrated his loss, but I also prayed for the delegates who voted against him.”
He commended the NPP delegates for their decision, suggesting the defeat should serve as a political lesson and might signal the decline of Agyapong’s active career in politics.
The clergyman’s remarks have added to the post-primary commentary, highlighting internal tensions within the party in the wake of its presidential candidate selection
