“We fear no nation”: GFA President vows bold Black Stars campaign at 2026 World Cup

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has issued a powerful declaration of intent regarding the Black Stars’ prospects at the upcoming 2026 World Cup, stating that the team will enter the tournament with unwavering confidence and a fearlessness of any opponent.

Mr. Okraku made the remarks during the official launch of the Black Stars’ fundraising campaign, held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra on Friday, March 20, 2026. The event served as a platform to outline the team’s ambitions ahead of the global showpiece.

Addressing dignitaries and sponsors, the GFA President highlighted the quality of the squad and the leadership of head coach Otto Addo as key drivers of the team’s renewed self-belief.

“Today, we are very confident that the intangible assets that we have produced over time, the intangible assets that have been put together by coach Otto Addo and his team, will make Ghana proud,” Mr. Okraku stated.

He emphasized that Ghana’s approach to the tournament will be marked by courage and a determination to rewrite the nation’s recent footballing narrative. The Black Stars have been drawn in a challenging Group L, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia.

“We will go into this tournament with our chests up, ready to fight for the strip and ready to change our story,” Okraku declared. “We fear no nation and, believe me, Ghana football will speak.”

The fundraising campaign aims to provide the necessary logistical and preparatory support to ensure the team is in optimal condition for the tournament, as the GFA seeks to rally the nation behind the squad for what promises to be a competitive group stage.
