Uniilever Ghana PLC has reported a profit after tax of GH¢95.73 million for the year ended December 31, 2025, marking a 65% increase from the GH¢58.05 million recorded in the previous year.
The company’s audited financial statements, released on March 30, 2026, show that total revenue rose by 12% to GH¢1.04 billion, up from GH¢930.81 million in 2024.
In a statement signed by Managing Director Chris Wulf-Caesar and Director Charles B. Nimako, the company attributed the strong performance to improved operational efficiency and revenue growth. Gross profit increased to GH¢409.23 million from GH¢352.82 million, while operating profit climbed to GH¢143.31 million, up from GH¢95.24 million in 2024. Profit before taxation stood at GH¢143.06 million.
The directors have proposed a dividend of GH¢1 per share, amounting to a total payout of GH¢62.5 million. The proposal is subject to shareholder approval at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting.
Basic earnings per share improved to 1.53 pesewas, compared to 0.93 pesewas in the previous year.
Strong Cash Position
The company’s balance sheet also showed significant strengthening. Total assets increased to GH¢547.20 million from GH¢444.03 million, while total equity grew to GH¢278.94 million.
Cash and bank balances more than doubled to GH¢210.45 million, up from GH¢97.03 million at the end of 2024. Cash generated from operating activities saw a substantial increase, rising to GH¢247.35 million from GH¢95.00 million.
Inventory levels decreased to GH¢103.45 million from GH¢128.69 million, reflecting efficient stock management. The effective tax rate for the year was 33%, down from 37% in 2024.
Sustainability and Recognition
Beyond its financial results, Unilever Ghana highlighted its commitment to sustainability. Through its participation in the Ghana Recycling Initiative by Private Enterprises (GRIPE), the company trained 100 women waste pickers in Northern Ghana and facilitated the collection of over 600 tons of plastic waste during the year.
The company’s Songtaa Project, which distributes products through a network of 200 agents in rural and peri-urban communities in Northern Ghana, is also set to be extended to Accra.
The company’s sustainability and marketing efforts earned it several awards, including Oral Care Brand of the Year for Pepsdent, Social Impact Campaign of the Year for Pepsdent’s “Talk to the Dentist”, and Skin Care Brand of the Year for Vaseline.
Deloitte & Touche served as the company’s auditors, with an audit fee of GH¢650,000 for the year. Unilever Ghana remains 74.5% owned by Unilever Overseas Holding Limited and UAC International Limited, under the common control of its ultimate parent, Unilever Plc.
