UEW Techiman students give back: Level 200 donates fridge and water to study centre

In a heartwarming display of gratitude and community spirit, Level 200 students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Techiman Study Centre have donated a refrigerator and packs of bottled water to their alma mater.

The presentation, which took place on Saturday, was a gesture of appreciation from the students to the management and staff for their unwavering support throughout their academic journey.

Speaking on behalf of the donors, student leader Kwame Baffoe explained that the contribution was a token of gratitude for the dedication and commitment shown by both lecturers and administrative staff. He highlighted the consistent mentorship, guidance, and conducive learning environment provided by the centre, which he said has been instrumental in helping students pursue their studies with confidence.

“We wanted to give back to the institution that has given us so much,” Mr. Baffoe said. “This donation, though modest, is our way of saying thank you and contributing, in a small way, to improving the facilities here. We hope it strengthens the bond between the student body and the management.”

Receiving the items on behalf of the centre, the Study Centre Manager, Nana Obiri Korang Antwi Boasiako, commended the students for their thoughtfulness and initiative. He described the gesture as commendable and a true reflection of the spirit of cooperation and mutual respect that exists between the students and the administration.

Nana Boasiako encouraged the students to remain focused and dedicated to their studies, emphasizing that discipline and hard work are the cornerstones of academic success. He also urged them to continue supporting initiatives that promote the development of the study centre and strengthen the broader academic community.

The donation is part of ongoing efforts by the students to give back to the institution that is shaping their academic and professional futures. The gesture underscores the strong relationship between the student body and the centre’s leadership, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment.

The University of Education, Winneba, continues to expand access to higher education through its network of study centres across the country, providing opportunities for students to pursue teacher education and various academic programs.
