The countdown is on for what promises to be a spectacular evening of sports and entertainment, as popular Ghanaian rapper Tinny is confirmed to perform at the 2026 National Individual Amateur Boxing Championship.
According to exclusive information gathered by Yours Truly, the “Mambii” hitmaker will be the headline entertainer for the event’s finals night. The championship, organized by the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) with support from the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and the National Sports Authority (NSA), is scheduled for Friday, 27th February 2026.
The action will get underway at 6:00 PM at the iconic Bukom Boxing Arena, the spiritual home of Ghanaian boxing.
Tinny, whose real name is Nii Addo Quaynor, is a veteran of the Ghanaian music industry. A performer from a young age, he began his professional journey in 1994 on the popular Fun-World stage at the National Theatre. Over the decades, he has metamorphosed into a superstar, performing at concerts across the globe.
Beyond his musical prowess, Tinny has a deep affinity for the sport of boxing. While he admits he isn’t cut out for the physical rigours of the ring, he plays a crucial role in supporting the boxing community. He uses his music to energize boxers and educate the community, serving as a bridge between the sport and the public.
The GBF has lined up a host of dignitaries, ambassadors, and representatives from international agencies to witness the finals. The decision to include a major musical act underscores the deep-rooted connection between boxing and entertainment in Ghana, where fans expect the thrill of the fight to be complemented by music, dance, and vibrancy.
Patrons eager to experience the fusion of top-tier amateur boxing and live music will be allowed entry for a token fee at the gate. It promises to be a night where the best of Ghana’s pugilistic talent shares the stage with one of its most enduring musical stars.
