Three arrested in mob killing of Liberian national at Lashibi

The Sakumono District Police Command has apprehended three suspects in connection with the brutal lynching of a 26-year-old Liberian man at Lashibi in the Greater Accra Region.

The suspects—Francis Amuzu, 44; William Adison, 36; and Vincent Adzikah, 34—are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

The victim, Austin Tengeeh, was allegedly set upon by a group of irate persons who mistook him for a thief. The incident occurred on February 27, 2026, near the offices of the Electricity Company of Ghana at Lashibi.

According to a police situational report, the Sakumono District Patrol Team received a distress call from an unidentified individual reporting that a man had been attacked and severely beaten by a mob.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Tengeeh lying unconscious with visible marks of assault around his neck and head. He was rushed to the Sakumono Community Hospital for emergency medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue while diplomatic protocols are being followed to notify Liberian authorities.

Meanwhile, the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team from the National Police Headquarters has launched a manhunt for other suspects believed to have participated in the crime.

Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and efforts are being intensified to apprehend all individuals involved in the incident.
