Technical glitch fixed: Ministry of Interior announces new dates for security services aptitude test

The Ministry of the Interior has announced a staggered mop-up exercise for the 2025/26 Centralised E-Recruitment Portal Aptitude Test, following technical challenges that prevented a number of applicants from successfully submitting their examinations online.

In a public statement released on Saturday, February 22, 2026, the Ministry acknowledged that “challenges experienced by some applicants while attempting to submit their Aptitude Test Online” necessitated immediate intervention to ensure fairness in the high-stakes recruitment process for the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Police Service, Prisons Service, and Fire Service.

The extension specifically caters to Category C applicants holding WAASCE certificates who were affected by the technical bottleneck. The revised schedule will run from Saturday, February 21, to Saturday, February 28, 2026, and is structured by service to manage portal traffic effectively.

Revised Schedule for Affected Applicants:

ยท Ghana Immigration Service (GIS): Saturday, 21st February โ€“ Monday, 23rd February 2026
ยท Ghana Police Service: Tuesday, 24th February โ€“ Wednesday, 25th February 2026
ยท Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) & Ghana Prisons Service: Thursday, 26th February โ€“ Saturday, 28th February 2026

To ensure no eligible candidate is left behind, the Ministry has scheduled a final opportunity for all outstanding applicants. “A general mop-up for all categories (A to C) will follow between Sun, 1st โ€“ 2nd March 2026,” the statement confirmed.

The results of the entire exercise are slated for publication on Wednesday, 4th March 2026.

Communication and Access
The Ministry stated that affected individuals will be contacted directly. “All applicants are to note that SMSs will be sent to all affected persons to log into the portal and retake the test within the above scheduled dates,” the notice read.

To prevent system overload, access to the portal during this extension period will be strictly limited to the affected demographic. Officials noted that the 82% of applicants who have already successfully completed the test will be barred from the portal and must await the results release date.

Live Q&A Session Scheduled
In a move to enhance transparency and address lingering technical concerns, the Ministry has announced a live social media interaction. The session, which will be led by the programmeโ€™s technical facilitator, is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 8:30 PM. It will be streamed across all major social media platforms and is intended to address “all issues related to the Aptitude Test and other concerns.”

Applicants have been advised to monitor official Ministry communication channels for details on how to participate in the forum.
