The highway is presently undergoing rehabilitation works, with several stretches, including the area around the junction, still under active construction.
Emergency response teams from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), specifically personnel stationed at the Apam Fire Station, have been swiftly deployed to the scene. Firefighters are currently working to contain the blaze and prevent the situation from escalating.
As a result of the explosion and the ongoing emergency response operation, the highway has been brought to a standstill.
