Salaga-South MP champions community development with streetlight project and Ramadan support

In a significant move to bolster security and improve public safety, the Member of Parliament for the Salaga-South Constituency, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has overseen the supply of 500 streetlights for installation in communities across the area. The initiative underscores her commitment to enhancing living conditions and driving infrastructural development within the constituency.

The large-scale streetlight project aims to illuminate dark spots and public spaces, a critical step toward curbing insecurity and fostering a safer environment for residents. This infrastructure drive follows closely on the heels of a major outreach effort to support constituents during the holy month of Ramadan.

In her recent Ramadan gesture, the MP distributed 650 bags of sugar to a wide cross-section of the community, including party branches, youth and women’s groups, underprivileged households, traditional leaders, and religious authorities. The donation is intended to provide relief to Muslim faithful observing the fast and to extend a helping hand to the most vulnerable members of society.

At a brief ceremony to mark the presentation of the items, the Salaga-South Municipal Chief Executive, Kassim Yazid Rabiu, alongside the Constituency Chairman, Haruna Abdul Aziz, lauded the MP for her unwavering dedication to the welfare and progress of the constituency.

Addressing the community, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah reflected on the spiritual significance of Ramadan, emphasizing the core values of sacrifice, togetherness, and empathy. She encouraged residents to embody these principles not only during the fasting period but throughout the year. “The holy month of Ramadan teaches us sacrifice, togetherness, and empathy. I urge us all to uphold these values beyond the fasting period,” she stated. She offered prayers for Allah’s blessings, asking for peace in homes and strengthened unity across Salaga-South.

Reaffirming her commitment to her constituents, the MP stated that representing and serving the people of Salaga-South remains her highest privilege. She assured them of her relentless efforts to advance development in the area, with the newly supplied streetlights serving as a tangible step toward a brighter and more secure future for all.
