The Member of Parliament for Pru East Constituency, Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has launched a quiz competition aimed at improving academic performance and fostering intellectual growth among students in the area.
The initiative, first conceived in 2023 and piloted in 2024, draws inspiration from the MP’s own educational background. Speaking at a press briefing, Mr. Boam said his early participation in similar contests significantly shaped his academic development.
According to the MP, the competition is designed to motivate students to challenge themselves and build confidence in their abilities. “Creating such platforms is essential in guiding young people to unlock their full potential,” he stated.
The maiden edition attracted nearly 60 schools, with 15 advancing to the semi-finals and six competing in the grand finale. The final event was held at Parliament, giving participants a rare opportunity to experience the country’s legislative environment first-hand.
Mr. Boam expressed optimism about the initiative’s long-term benefits, describing it as a discovery ground for brilliant young minds within the constituency. He noted that the competition could help identify future great thinkers and leaders.
Beyond academic gains, the quiz has also strengthened community involvement. Parents and guardians actively attended events to support their wards, which the MP said has enhanced the bond between families and schools.
As preparations begin for the next edition, the Pru East MP remains confident that the initiative will continue to inspire students and contribute significantly to educational advancement in the constituency.
