The Accra Regional Police Command has announced a comprehensive security deployment across the region to ensure a peaceful and orderly Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
In a press release issued on March 19, 2026, the Command stated that sufficient personnel have been strategically positioned at key locations, including mosques, Eid prayer grounds, major roads, markets, and transport terminals.
As part of the measures, special traffic management teams have been deployed to regulate vehicular movement before, during, and after the festivities. The police said this initiative aims to ease congestion and promote road safety for all motorists and pedestrians.
The Command further noted that patrol teams would intensify visibility policing within communities. This heightened presence is intended to deter criminal activity and facilitate a prompt response to any emergencies that may arise during the celebration.
Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, signed the statement, which urged the public to remain security-conscious and cooperate fully with deployed personnel.
“The public is advised to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station,” the statement read, while also reminding motorists and pedestrians to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to help ensure a safe and orderly celebration.
