The Ghana Police Service has arrested a Kasoa-based pastor accused of issuing death threats against Vice-President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang in a viral social media video.
Prophet William Gyimah, the 49-year-old General Overseer of Elohim International Ministry, was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, following a targeted operation by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET).
According to police sources, the arrest was triggered when CVET analysts intercepted a “high-priority viral video on TikTok and other platforms” in which the suspect allegedly made threatening remarks directed at the Vice-President.
The suspect has been transferred to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further questioning.
In a statement released after the arrest, the police administration issued a strong warning to the public and media houses against using any platform to incite trouble or disseminate content that could threaten the nation’s peace and security.
Authorities have assured the public that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
