The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei South, Ernest Adomako, has expressed profound grief over the death of Ayawaso East MP, Mahama Naser Toure, describing the loss as sudden, shocking and deeply painful.
The four-term legislator passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a brief illness, news that has cast a pall over Parliament, particularly among members of the Greater Accra caucus.
Speaking to journalists at the residence of the late MP, Mr Adomako described Mahama Naser Toure as a unifying figure who was widely admired across political divides for his humility and warm personality.
He noted that as Greater Accra caucus chairman, the late MP consistently fostered unity and camaraderie among colleagues, adding that he never appeared unwell, making his death even more difficult to comprehend.
Mr Adomako said Mahama Naser Toure’s commitment to parliamentary work and leadership would be greatly missed, recalling his roles as Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee and a member of the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bill and Motion Committee.
