NPP Chairmanship race: Boakye Agyarko taps Joe Wise, Henry Quartet to lead campaign

National Chairman aspirant Boakye Kyeremanten Agyarko has unveiled a seasoned leadership team for his campaign, appointing Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey as Campaign Manager and former First Deputy Speaker Joseph Osei-Owusu (Joe Wise) as Senior Campaign Advisor.

The announcement was made during a high-energy meeting with volunteers, where Mr. Agyarko declared that his bid is centered on forging a formidable party machine to secure victory for the New Patriotic Partyโ€™s (NPP) 2028 flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia.

โ€œThis campaign is about building a party that wins,โ€ Mr. Agyarko told supporters, stressing a focus on strengthening grassroots structures to ensure unity and electoral success.

In a statement signed by campaign spokesperson Vincent Frimpong Manu, the team said the appointments underscore Mr. Agyarkoโ€™s commitment to a grassroots-centred strategy.

โ€œTheir vast experience at the highest levels of governance, combined with their strong grassroots appeal, positions the campaign to effectively connect with party members across the country,โ€ the statement read.

Explaining his choices, Mr. Agyarko described Mr. Quartey and Mr. Osei-Owusu as โ€œmen of proven competence and commitment,โ€ whose track records in governance, party organisation, and mobilisation give the campaign a strong foundation.

Mr. Quartey pledged an inclusive approach, stating, โ€œWe are ready to engage every level of the party.โ€ Mr. Osei-Owusu added, โ€œWe fully share his vision to rebuild, restructure and rebrand the party for victory.โ€

While the top leadership is now in place, the campaign indicated that a full national teamโ€”including experts in strategy, research, communications, and operationsโ€”will be officially inaugurated in the coming weeks as efforts intensify to rally support nationwide.
