The Chief of Nnuaso in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Obiri Yeboah, has called on Ghanaians to prioritize their health by embracing regular physical exercise and routine medical screening as proactive measures to prevent lifestyle-related diseases.
Speaking during a health walk and community clean-up exercise organized as part of the Nnuaso Homecoming festivities, the Chief emphasized that combining consistent physical activity with periodic health checks is essential for the early detection of hidden illnesses. He noted that such practices enable timely medical intervention before conditions worsen.
“Many individuals unknowingly live with underlying health conditions that can be effectively identified and managed through consistent medical screening,” Nana Obiri Yeboah said.
He raised concerns about the growing prevalence of unhealthy habits such as late-night eating and sedentary lifestyles, warning that these practices pose significant risks to public health and can lead to a range of medical complications. He urged the public to adopt healthier habits that promote proper blood circulation and overall well-being.
The homecoming event brought together residents, indigenes, and community stakeholders in a shared effort to promote environmental cleanliness and raise awareness about good health practices. The Chief described the health walk and clean-up exercise as a commendable step toward building a healthier and more vibrant society.
Beyond health advocacy, Nana Obiri Yeboah appealed to natives of Nnuaso, both in Ghana and abroad, to return and support the ongoing homecoming programme. He highlighted several development projects currently underway in the community, including the construction of a community center, a water closet toilet facility, and improvements in educational infrastructure.
He explained that these projects are aimed at improving living conditions and fostering sustainable development, and called for unity and active participation from all indigenes, stressing that collective effort remains key to achieving meaningful progress.
The Nnuaso Homecoming activities are expected to climax on Sunday, April 5, with continued emphasis on unity, development, and a strong commitment to health and environmental cleanliness.
