The newly appointed acting head of the late Daddy Lumba’s family has directed lawyers to discontinue an ongoing legal case, stating that the suit does not reflect the family’s intentions.
Abusuapanyin Kwabena Brefo, also known as Mr. James Kennedy Brefo, who now leads the Ekuona Royal Family of Parkoso, issued the directive in a formal letter dated March 25, 2026. His appointment follows the customary removal of his predecessor, Mr. Victor Kofi Owusu Boahene, on March 11, 2026.
In the letter addressed to the legal representatives of the former family head, Abusuapanyin Brefo instructed them to withdraw the case identified as SUIT NO: GJ/0437/2026, titled Abusua Panin Kofi Owusu vrs Akosua Serwaa Fosuh & 3 others.
“Pursuant to my responsibilities, I wish to bring to your notice that I am taking over the conduct of all ongoing legal matters pertaining to the family,” the letter stated. “Significantly, I have been instructed by the family to direct that you discontinue the ongoing case […] as the said suit does not align with the intentions and objectives of the family.”
The new family head also requested a comprehensive inventory of all other legal matters previously handled by his predecessor in a representative capacity.
The discontinuation is to be carried out by the close of day on March 26, 2026.
