NDC to elect new national executives at delegates conference on December 19, 2026

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that it will hold its National Delegates Conference on December 19, 2026, to elect new national party executives.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, the party’s General Secretary, Mr Fifi Fiavi Kwatey, said the internal elections would adopt a bottom-to-top structure, starting from the branch level, progressing through constituency and regional levels, and ending with the national elections.

He disclosed that nominations for aspirants will be filed from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9, 2026. This will be followed by the vetting of candidates on Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13, 2026.

Mr Kwatey added that appeals will be heard on Sunday, November 15, and Monday, November 16, 2026, while the youth and women’s conference is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2026.

“The congress will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2026,” he confirmed.

He explained that the exercise is part of the NDC’s broader efforts to reorganise and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections, noting that the process is aimed at positioning the party for the next electoral contest and consolidating its organisational gains.
