NDC begins nationwide membership registration to strengthen grassroots base

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has rolled out a nationwide membership registration exercise aimed at expanding and consolidating its grassroots support, with the introduction of a new party register to capture members across the country.

The initiative was announced by the party’s Acting Director of Elections and Information Technology, Mahdi Jibril, in a Facebook post. He indicated that the exercise officially commenced on Monday, February 10, and will run until March 30, 2026.

According to Mr Jibril, the registration will take place in all NDC branches nationwide and will be administered at the branch level to ensure transparency and smooth organisation.

He explained that branch secretaries will oversee the process at designated meeting points, where new members can sign up and existing members can update their personal details.

Mr Jibril urged party supporters and sympathisers to actively take part in the exercise, stressing that a comprehensive and accurate membership database is essential for strengthening the party’s organisational capacity and mobilisation efforts ahead of future political activities.

He added that the registration drive forms part of the NDC’s broader strategy to reinforce its internal structures and deepen grassroots participation nationwide.
