In a significant move to enhance specialist healthcare delivery, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund Secretariat, widely known as Mahama Care, has donated two dialysis machines to the Sunyani Teaching Hospital. The presentation was made on Friday morning by Obobia Darko-Opoku, Administrator of Mahama Care.
The newly acquired machines are set to dramatically improve the hospital’s capacity to manage and treat patients with chronic and life-threatening conditions, including chronic kidney failure, various cancers, cardiovascular diseases, and stroke.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the hospital, management expressed profound gratitude to the government and the Mahama Care initiative for the timely intervention. They highlighted that the new machines would not only elevate the standard of patient care but also significantly expand the hospital’s ability to deliver advanced medical treatment, reinforcing its role as a key referral facility in the Bono Region.
Special appreciation was extended to former President John Dramani Mahama for what the hospital described as a “thoughtful and impactful intervention” aimed at strengthening the regional healthcare infrastructure.
Hospital authorities also conveyed their optimism, anticipating the arrival of additional medical equipment in the near future. They believe these forthcoming supplies will further enhance healthcare services and solidify the status of the Sunyani Teaching Hospital as a premier specialist healthcare provider.
This donation is part of a broader, ongoing effort by Mahama Care to support healthcare institutions across the country by providing essential medical equipment, thereby improving access to quality treatment for patients nationwide.
