The Kotokuom Youth for Development has formally introduced itself to the Nkawie District Police Command, signalling the start of a new collaboration focused on community safety and development.
The delegation, led by the group’s chairman, Abdul Rahim Fathi, paid a courtesy call to the District Police Commander on Wednesday. The visit aimed to establish a working relationship between the youth organisation and the police to address local security concerns and promote peace in Kotokuom and surrounding areas.
During the meeting, Mr. Fathi outlined the group’s commitment to youth empowerment, unity, and community-driven initiatives. He stressed that a strong partnership with law enforcement is essential for creating a safe environment where development can thrive.
“Building a strong relationship with the police is key to fostering a safe and conducive environment for development,” Mr. Fathi said. He added that the organisation is eager to support policing efforts through crime prevention, information sharing, and promoting civic responsibility among young people.
The Nkawie District Police Commander welcomed the initiative and praised the group for its proactive approach. The Commander emphasised that effective security depends on active community involvement and encouraged the youth to maintain open lines of communication with the police.
“Effective security is achieved when residents and law enforcement agencies work hand in hand,” the Commander noted, assuring the group of the command’s readiness to cooperate.
Both parties expressed optimism about the partnership and agreed to deepen engagement in the coming months. Kotokuom Youth for Development reaffirmed its commitment to working with traditional authorities, security agencies, and local institutions to drive sustainable progress and stability in the area.
