The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, joined Christian residents of Salaga for their annual Easter picnic, using the occasion to urge unity, love, and environmental stewardship.
The event, held at the Catholic Church grounds, drew community members together for fellowship, reflection, and celebration. Activities included games, music, and the sharing of local meals.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Hajia Zuwera commended the Church for its consistent efforts to promote the teachings of Christ and foster communal togetherness. She emphasised that love and compassion are cornerstones of the Christian faith and encouraged residents to embody these values in daily life.
The MP called on congregants to use the Easter season as an opportunity to renew their commitment to unity and service, noting that mutual care strengthens both the community and individual faith.
She also raised environmental concerns, urging residents to adopt responsible practices to help protect the environment and combat the growing threat of climate change.
In support of the event, Hon. Hajia Zuwera donated cooked meals, assorted drinks, and bottled water to participants, contributing to the programme’s smooth organisation.
She expressed gratitude to the Church and the community for their warm reception, describing the picnic as a meaningful part of her Easter celebrations. She offered prayers for peace, progress, and continued unity in the constituency.
