The government has approved a 9% salary increase for all public sector workers under the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) for the 2026 fiscal year. In addition, the National Tripartite Committee has agreed to raise the national daily minimum wage by 9%, moving it from GH₵19.97 to GH₵21.77.
The agreement, signed on November 9, 2025, by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), the Ministry of Finance (MoF), and Organised Labour, follows successful negotiations aimed at improving worker welfare and maintaining public sector stability.
Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson praised the cooperative stance of Organised Labour, noting that the increment aligns with Ghana’s ongoing economic recovery efforts. He highlighted that inflation has decreased to 8% and pledged further measures to ease financial burdens on citizens. Employment Minister Dr. Rashid Pelpuo and FWSC CEO Dr. George Smith-Graham also lauded the agreement as a step toward labour harmony and economic stability.
