Globally renowned internet personality popularly known as “Speed” received a formal welcome into Ghanaian culture through a traditional Akan naming ceremony held in the Eastern Region on Monday.

The culturally rich event, marked by royal pageantry and deep symbolic meaning, saw the digital star fully immersed in ancient customs, culminating in the conferment of the local name Barima Kofi Akuffo.
Organised by traditional rulers and elders, the ceremony turned the community grounds into a vibrant display of colourful regalia, rhythmic drumming and spirited celebration. Large crowds of residents and well-wishers gathered to witness the occasion, contributing to an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality.

Clad in specially prepared traditional cloth, Speed actively took part in the rites, dancing enthusiastically to the sounds of fontomfrom drums as a sign of respect and cultural appreciation. He also greeted elders and excited spectators with visible joy, appearing deeply touched by the reception accorded him.
