Ghana’s Black Stars will play South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in an international friendly on December 16, 2025, at a venue yet to be confirmed in Gauteng.
The match forms part of South Africa’s preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off on December 21 in Morocco. Bafana Bafana have been drawn in Group B alongside Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe.
Ghana, however, will miss this year’s AFCON after failing to win any of their six qualification matches their first absence from the tournament since 2004.
Despite missing out on the continental showpiece, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is expected to use the friendly to assess his squad as preparations begin for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L with England, Croatia and Panama for next year’s Mundial.
