A major fire outbreak on Sunday night tore through a cluster of mechanic workshops at Sofoline in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, destroying property worth millions of cedis and disrupting the livelihoods of scores of artisans.
The fire, which started around 7:00 p.m., gutted more than 100 vehicles, damaged several engines, and consumed large stocks of upholstery and mechanical materials, leaving affected shop owners and workers devastated.
While the exact cause of the blaze has not yet been officially determined, some artisans suspect it may have been triggered by an individual burning refuse near the workshops.
Authorities are yet to issue a formal report as investigations into the incident continue.
