Engineers and Planners, one of Ghana’s leading engineering and construction firms, has stepped forward as the headline sponsor for the Black Stars’ 2026 World Cup fundraising initiative with a substantial $5 million commitment.
The donation, announced over the weekend, represents one of the largest single private-sector contributions ever made toward Ghana’s national team preparations. The funding is expected to bolster the team’s campaign as they gear up for the global tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Organisers of the fundraising drive indicated that proceeds will be directed toward player welfare, logistical arrangements, training programmes, and international friendly matches—critical components of the team’s pre-tournament preparations.
The company’s contribution has been hailed as a significant vote of confidence in Ghana’s football ambitions. Officials described the sponsorship as a leadership gesture that eases the financial burden traditionally borne by the state and football authorities.
A statement from the fundraising organisers commended Engineers and Planners for its patriotism and called on other corporate entities, institutions, and philanthropists to emulate the example as the nation unites behind the Black Stars.
Ghana, which returns to the World Cup stage after a challenging run in recent international competitions, will be seeking to reassert its pedigree on global football’s biggest platform. The financial boost from Engineers and Planners arrives at a critical juncture, raising expectations for a well-prepared and competitive showing from the senior national team.
The 2026 World Cup will mark Ghana’s fifth appearance at the tournament, following previous campaigns in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022.
