The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has notified its customers of a series of planned and emergency maintenance works scheduled across its operational regions from Sunday, March 1, to Thursday, March 5, 2026. The exercises will result in temporary power interruptions in several communities within the Greater Accra, Tema, Accra East, and Accra West Regions.
In a statement issued by its Communications Department on Friday, February 27, ECG stated that the outages are necessary to facilitate critical infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing service delivery and network reliability.
The maintenance schedule is as follows:
Sunday, March 1
· Greater Accra Region: The Trassaco Valley Enclave and surrounding areas will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for planned works.
· Tema Region: Industrial and commercial customers along the Western Rod, including Early Power, Apollo Steel, Crown Can, De-Simone, and surrounding areas, will experience an interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for planned maintenance.
· Accra West Region: Emergency maintenance will be undertaken in La Darkuman, Kokompe, and their environs to address urgent network faults. The outage will also run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Monday, March 2
· Accra West Region: Planned maintenance will affect Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Akweteman, and surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, March 3
· Accra East Region: Power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Santana Market, Zion Police Station, Teshie Camp 2, parts of Labone, Dome Pillar 2, and surrounding areas.
· Tema Region: Outages are scheduled in Spintex Kotobabi, Inkoom Hospital, Community 11 (Monte Carlo area), Community 5 (CAC), Community 3, and surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
· Accra West Region: Areas including Red Top, Old Barrier, New Aplaku, and Kings University will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, March 4
· Accra West Region: Maintenance works will impact Tunga, New Century, Dansoman Police Station, Dansoman Market, Weija Junction, Tetegu, and surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, March 5
· Accra East Region: Parts of Ashongman Estate, Pure Water, Car Price, Railways, Oyarifa, Gravel Pit, Ashiyie, and surrounding areas will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
· Tema Region: An extensive list of communities, including Jericho, Roman Down, Underbridge Market, State School for the Deaf, Ada Foah, Big Ada, Azizanya, Aqua Safari, and their surrounding areas, will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
· Accra West Region: Doblo, Hebron, Medie, Sarpeiman, Satellite, Tabora (No.2 to No. 6), parts of Tantra Hills, and surrounding areas will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
